December 22, 2008 I arrived at the boat docks to pick up my good friend Siddhartha who I had invited to come spend 3 days “in the real world” to experience new things. When I first saw my old time friend, the first thing I noticed was that he wasn’t really properly dressed for the 3 day phenomenon I had already planned out. “What is he thinking wearing that loincloth” I kept questioning myself, but I couldn’t just call him out about it, so I brought him out shopping to get him some new attire.
The whole time shopping really was one hell of a trip; it was full of laughter, jokes, and really just a good time to catch up on a lot of things. Some of the things Siddhartha talked about or tried to say just cracked me up, he had a hard time pronouncing the different varieties of food we have around here, so I couldn’t help but to laugh out loud a few times. I figured that the first two days would just be kind of a relaxing, adventuress, kind of a trip.
The next morning I had a big trip planned for the both of us, so we had to get up early. I couldn’t help but to keep questioning myself, “is he having fun?”, “what’s he going to think about the trip after he leaves?” But I couldn’t allow this nonsense to interrupt a good time at Niagara Falls. The whole car ride was full of questions, “where are we?” and my least favorite “when are we going to be there?” that got old real quick. I couldn’t ruin the surprise to the biggest waterfall in North America so instead I just avoided the questions. When we finally arrived Siddhartha was just under the impression we were going out fishing, and he kept asking “what’s that loud water crashing noise in the distance?” to avoid ruining the surprise again I simply told him he was hearing things.
As we were only seconds away I had brought him inside the boat so when he came out it would be a huge surprise to see the waterfall. We both bought a bag of sunflower seeds and walked out on the dock of the boat, and within seconds Siddhartha was in complete amazement. At first he actually thought we were going to drive through the waterfall but I had to explain to him the repercussions of that. So for a couple of hours the boat just kind of sat around and there was a tour guide who brought people to walk out off the boat and explain the all the different animals that depended on this waterfall to survive, which was actually quite interesting. The place was absolutely beautiful and full of color I couldn’t have picked a better place to bring him. It was the more relaxing thing I have ever bared to witness. We laid out for about an hour until the boat brought us back.
Siddhartha has never seen a plane close up, so he never really understood how big they can get. I decided it would be a good idea to make a quick detour past the air port so he could get a closer look at all of the planes and watch them take out. He didn’t know it yet but, that nice big green place he said was his favorite turned out to be the one he’s taking home. After we watched a few planes take off I thought it would be a good time to bring him out to one of my favorite restaurants, Chili’s. After a 22 minute wait we were greeter by a lovely lady named tiffany. We gave tiffany our orders or what we liked and I ordered a thing of there chips & salsa and some queso dip. The food came out pretty quick and Siddhartha went to town on his chilly bean quesadilla and I was already starting to feel full off those chips, so I asked tiffany to wrap it up for me and then to my surprise she starting conversating with us, I introduced her to my friend Siddhartha and she asked what us big boys were up too that evening. I told her I had a special plan to bring my buddy somewhere and after that I was planning on heading over to a bar, which she would be more then welcome to come along and join with a friend if she would like. Tiffany was thrilled, and told us she got out of work around 11 and would text me when she was all ready to go. The food was great and I asked for the bill a few moments after so we could get out of the as soon as possible.
As we were leaving Siddhartha was going crazy about what I could possibly be taking him. I told him he’s just going to have to wait and see and that I refuse to ruin the surprise. We pulled into “Anthony’s” and I looked over and said “well buddy, at last we’re at the bar”. He looked at me and replied “you had me waiting all this time just for a bar?” I laughed and replied with” oh this just isn’t any bar, you just wait”. We got out of the car and slowly started towards the entrance. I couldn’t wait to see Siddhartha’s reaction I knew he has never been around something like this before in his entire life. When we walked in it was a dark hallway leading to an enormously large man asking to see everyone’s I.D. we handed in our ids and gave us the green stamp and said “alright boys enjoy yourself tonight’s the Santa’s little helper’s night”. We turned the corner and Siddhartha’s jaw dropped immediately he didn’t know what to do with himself. I couldn’t stop laughing a saw a few of my buddies and decided to head over there and introduce them to my good friend from across the seas. I purchased 2 pitchers of beer and held up my glass to have cheers with my good friends. After we finished our cups I walked over to the bouncer and asked him for some ones, I gave him a ten and one twenty and he gave me 30 one dollar bills. I pulled up my chair next to Siddhartha and smiled and said “here ya go buddy” I folded a dollar bill and placed it on the table in front of him. Right then and there my phone went off and it was tiffany, curious to see if I wanted to accompany her the tomorrow night to see Notorious B.IG and that she had too much studying to do and couldn’t make it tonight. The guys and I had a great time at Anthony’s, I pretty much had to drag Siddhartha out by his ankles, he kept screaming “But I found enlightment I finally found it!!!” We rolled over to my place and talked about the night and I told him that anytime he wanted to come down again I would be more than happy to bring him out.
The next morning we woke up and told him I had one more surprise up my sleeve for him. He was in shock he, didn’t know what to expect. I drove him to the Bradley airport where I brought him the other night to watch the planes take off, I handed him an envelope and told him to have a safe travel. I shook his hand and told him not to be a stranger and I watched him walk through the giant doors to the airport.

College Essay
I don’t really agree with anything that the United States has done in the past 8 years, starting with the war. I don’t see any good changes coming anytime soon or anything good about to happen. The reason I say this is because locally I know that the economy right now is horrible and that no one is making money, and instead of the government trying to help, they’d rather try to aid Arabs with bombs strapped to their mothers. I believe there are much more important things we could be doing to also help our economy and us as a country than wasting our time over there and getting out men and family members killed.
We’ve been over at Iraq since I was in the 5Th grade, so 8 years. This happened 8 years ago when I was just a little boy, now that I’m a senior in high school and I’ve stepped into the manly part of the world, its amazing to see how much this has really affected everything. In that time we have no accomplished anything other than waste our time looking to help people who in my eyes, aren’t trying to receive any help or change in their surrounding areas. We are looking for someone who we’re not even entirely sure is even still alive and it may not be the right thing to do, but I highly think we should have just taken them out completely and then we wouldn’t have to worry about any terrorist attacks or nuclear weapons of mass destruction. I know that most people wouldn’t agree with my ideas about solving the war, but there’s not really any other choice.
I don’t really see anything good coming anytime soon for the US mainly because I think the president’s that are running are “doo doo”. I didn’t even vote this year because I don’t really care for anything that any of them say they “want to do”. The way I see it is I know down south there’s a lot of racism and even around here I see and hear plenty of it and even though I personally think Obama is a good guy even though I don’t care for any of his ideas for the future, I believe he would be assassinated in a heart beat. Also as for Hillary, if she is still running, I don’t really think she’s a wise choice either. The way I see it is we have a woman whose trying to win the hearts of America’s people by saying it will be okay to have a certain amount of pot on them. Again, I don’t really agree with that, and there are more important things to worry about then how much pot someone is carrying on them.
These were my opinions on some of today’s world’s economy, worldwide and other situations that I think need to be overlooked.
